Thank you

Phew! Well, things have settled down a little bit and given me some time to update our blog! Here are the topics of this post: Thank you, Jobs, Trees.

First of all, Nathan and I want to thank everyone who extended their care and concern for us during the Wall Street financial crisis. As a little background, Nathan had just started a job with Lehman Brothers which declared bankruptcy a couple of weeks ago. Because of that, there was a lot of uncertainty wondering if Nate would still be employed, etc. So thank you to everyone's e-mails, phone calls, and prayers during that time! They were all appreciated and we felt very loved and comforted. Barclays Capital, a British bank, bought parts of Lehman Brothers, including the division for which Nathan works. So, Nathan continued to work and is now employed for Barclays! It all worked out well, and though there still is some uncertainty, things have settled down for the meantime, which is great. Thank you.

In the meantime, I am employed! After a 2 week interview process, I am now the receptionist for a Venture Capital firm, Panorama Capital. It's going great! Included in my list of responsibilities is stocking the kitchen with food and drinks, and making sure that all of the people who come in for meetings are seated, given drinks, and happy. So basically it's like hosting a party, which is one of my favorite things! As you can see, I'm finding joy in it. But I like the office and the people, and it's going well!

Lastly, we wanted to show how beautiful our area is! There are so many trees, and gorgeous houses, and it's so fun to just drive/run around and take it all in. True beauty! Below is one of my favorite houses in our neighborhood. We live in a humble apartment, but we're surrounded by pristine homes. And, I took a picture of Seminary Drive, which is the street that Nathan takes when he drives his 3-minute commute home from the office. Many of the streets around here are tree-lined like this one!
