one last Pre-Christmas post
We head down to my parents' house tomorrow, and I'm so excited. This year, I've really been able to think about Christmas, plan, enjoy, do fun activities, etc., which has made the season feel fantastically long. Last year, I was still in pajamas everyday learning how to care for a brand new baby, and prior years it was always either working or taking tests until right before the holiday. We've been to see Christmas lights, visit a holiday Lego exhibit in Palo Alto, had a little Christmas party with friends, I've baked a good amount of Christmas meals/desserts, we've delivered gifts and treats, read Christmas books, listened to Christmas music everyday, and my shopping has been done for a little while now. It's been great. One of the phrases that I've really pondered this season is from "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen":
Remember Christ our Savior was born this Christmas Day to save us all from Satan's power when we have gone astray.
That's what Christmas is all about. How absolutely wonderful it is that we know this. We all go astray at our own times and in our own ways, but because of the Savior, we are able to turn back, be forgiven, and have another chance. I'm so grateful for this. I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and get to celebrate with friends and family, eat lots of good food and treats, be warm by a fire and enjoy Christmas lights.
Anyway, here's a little video of Claire which has nothing to do with Christmas other than the fact that we filmed it in December. She's getting shy when I show her a picture of her cousin, Henry.
