Hikes

So, on Saturday, I went on 2 hikes which intensified my belief that we live in the most beautiful place. I sadly didn't bring my camera on either, but definitely should have. First, the Valparaiso Fit Club (anyone welcome!) went up to Huddart Park and did a great hike! It was absolutely beautiful, and I saw a newt for the first time in real life. I'm used to them on the "N" page of the Alphabet children's books, but real life? It was way cool. Oh, and a banana slug! Shout out to UC Santa Cruz (it's their mascot...!). We're definitely going back!
After that lovely hike with great girls from the ward, I picked up Nathan and we headed to "The Dish". It's a hike on Stanford property which winds around, but at the top of a mountain is a huge satellite dish. Sounds funny, but it's gorgeous. We could see San Francisco in the distance, but about 1000 feet away were a herd of cows. It was so green and beautiful, and I just kept saying to myself, "We live in the most beautiful area!" Truly was great.
Come visit and we'll go hiking!
