Weekend with Roland and Alison

Last weekend, Roland and Alison (Nathan's parents) came to visit! It was so nice of them, and so fun to have them! On Friday night we went to a new pizza place in town--Amici's Pizza-- and walked around downtown Menlo. Saturday, we first went to Muir Woods to see the redwoods there. It was so pretty! But probably the best part of the day was that we got to park in handicapped parking (50 feet from entrance) because Alison has a broken foot (sad!), instead of parking 2 miles away and having to hike up the hill to get to the park...

We live in such a gorgeous place! It reminded me of family vacations to Sequoia.

Afterward, we drove down to Berkeley to visit the town and the school. Though it is beautiful and the campus is gorgeous, the surrounding streets pretty much fit the stereotype. Two of the store names were "Your Indoor Garden" and "The Secret Garden". Hm... And we definitely ran into some hippies! After the school we went to the Scharffen Berger Chocolate Factory, where they had tours until 3 months ago. So, we saw the old building and then bought some chocolate at the grocery store next door!

It was a fantastic weekend!

I remember doing a business case on Scharffen Berger-- too bad you didn't get to go on a tour. Nor Cal looks like a beautiful place indeed!
