A few thoughts

because that's what blogs are for, right?
1) I need to show more gratitude for the fact that we live across the street from a park. Sometimes, the days are long, and I run out of ideas of things to do with an almost-9-month old. It's so wonderful that we can cross the street, sit on the grass, chase the birds, watch the waterfalls, etc., and that for the moment, Claire gets a break from my entertainment.
2) We hit up the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito yesterday, which is a place where they're allowed to take seals/sea lions who are diseased, sick, etc., from the wild and nurse them back to health, then release them. From the online description, it sounded like a seal zoo, but in reality the creators were somehow able to get people to this 'hospital', show some artwork, and put the seals in the furthest cages from the people so that you could barely see them. It makes sense, as the center is truly for the seals and not really for visitors, but let's give it up to the marketing team in that place for getting so many of us there. In other words, if you're visiting SF, there are many other places more interesting. If you're a local, the drive is pretty.
3) You know how usually when you live in a place, you never go to the hotspots in the same town? Like, when was the last time I went to Magic Mountain--maybe 8th grade--and i grew up like 10 minutes from it. Well, Claire and I combated that theory by driving down Lombard Street yesterday on our way home. It was awesome.

Cutest little hat ever. Makes me wish I had a little girl to dress up.

How many people told you she was cute that day in the park? 1,000?

If I had that hat I would wear it to the park every day to show it off!
