Happy 16 months to Claire! Nathan has informed me that once she turns 17 months, she is "a year and a half". So, I guess this is the last time we can post in months. haha. Anyways, Claire is doing great. She's adding to her vocabulary all the time (today's word: "Tsh" for Trash), and it's fun to watch her get older. We celebrated the day by doing a few of her favorite things: visiting the ducks, library Storytime, and the park. It was pretty fabulous. Another one of her new things is to 'say' the ABC's. She gets her ABC book and does this:
It's great that kids just keep getting better. When you're in a good stage you think "This is the best stage--it's not going to get any better than this." But then it does. Some things get more challenging, but watching their progression brings so much joy.
On another note: We had a lot of rain last week, we get a few days right now of sunshine, then it's back to the gray clouds on the 10-day. What are some of the tricks you pull out when you can't go outside with your kids?

The large sheet and the rice, little cups and funnels, and then get ready to vacuum.
she is so cute! rainy days are tough! I will be looking back at your comments for ideas.
I second mom's "rice" comment. Also dance parties; playing on/jumping on the bed and playing with pillows; getting out a bowl of plain oatmeal on the kitchen floor with measuring cups, spoons, etc; playdough of course; making popcorn; baking; making a road with books or blocks for cars to drive on; loooooong baths.
