It's almost April! Claire just keeps getting older and adding to her vocabulary. Today she kept saying "Happy!", and she really was...it was funny. On another note, I'm SO ready for spring. We got a late winter this year, and it's been raining a lot, but I cannot wait to put away all of our winter clothes and put Claire in all of her cute skirts and shorts. Come on, Spring!
Anyway, it has been raining most Saturdays, unfortunately, but one Saturday instead of rain we got bitter cold. We took it and ran with it. There was a Dr. Seuss activity at the Stanford Mall, which I thought would be super fun, but it ended up being so crowded that you couldn't move, and like I said, very cold. We enjoyed it as much as possible. I got a crown, so how can I complain? jk
Claire is absolutely frightened of oversized stuffed things (aka Easter Bunny, etc). She was super scared of the Cat in the Hat at first, but after a couple minutes she did give him a High 5. Progress.
On rainy days, we pretty much alternate between the Library, Palo Alto Junior Museum, the Toy Store, and Target. We mixed it up one day by going to Chuck E. Cheese! I would never have gone there (enter your own reason here...), but it was actually fun. The last time I went there was maybe 6th grade? Can't remember--it had been a while. The stage where the oversized stuffed animals do their show was way smaller than I remember, the climbing gym was much less impressive, and it seems as though the Chuck E. Enterprise is capitalizing off of arcade games. So, a little different than I remembered, but it was fun.
Daddy and Claire taking the Jockey game very seriously...
Riding with Chuck.
I was happy to see that they still teach good self-esteem.
Claire didn't care about the tickets, and actually had more fun trying to put them back into the machine.
Buttons that don't do anything at eye level = perfect
How you know it's time to go home:
The great thing is that it's free to get in! So, though I was hesitant about going at first, I'm sure we'll be going back to keep us entertained if there are more rainy days. Not to mention that we still have 75% of the tokens we bought.
