So, Nate took some time off work, we left Claire in the hands of 2 amazing sets of Grandparents, and we headed on a cruise to Mexico. I was having mixed feelings about leaving Claire, and was a total wreck after getting dropped off, but once we checked in, got on the boat, and felt the cruise 'scene', I was ready to relax and enjoy vacation. We had a great time.
First stop was Cabo San Lucas, where our main highlight was a dune buggy tour. It was fantastic! And, I learned that "bandito style" is like this:
Those bandanas saved us though, as we did go pretty fast and we had sand and rocks flying. We totally loved it, and got to go by a gorgeous beach and hang out for a bit.
Sunset in Cabo. (Sigh)
Next stop was Puerto Vallarta. We liked this city a lot better than Cabo. It's more south, so it's more jungley and pretty. Also, it seemed like more of a normal town where an average person might live. I always enjoy seeing how other cultures/peoples live everyday life.
We went on a canopy zipline tour, but couldn't take any pictures. Trust me, it was awesome.
We had a great time and as we assessed the trip, we realized that we both accomplished all of our goals: Me--to sleep a lot, and to have a conversation in Spanish with a local (Yep--my dad was proud), Nate--to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted and not have to stick to a schedule. Can you tell that we're parents?
