Bodies...

As many of you know, right now I'm taking a medical terminology class as a prerequisite for the ultrasound technology program which I hope to start next June. It's been fascinating, and I've really enjoyed learning more about our bodies. Yesterday I went to "Bodies...The Exhibition". Though not uniquely New York, it was great. I know that many people would be grossed out by this kind of thing, but I really liked it. And, since I've been studying the body, I was able to walk around and quiz myself in different areas, such as all of the names of the bones, the different parts of the kidneys, etc. What I walked away with was just an increased appreciation for the miracle of the human body. The fact that we have a body with so many intricate parts and delicate structures and that it works everyday is just amazing.

Looks like you have been so busy and taking full advantage of life in New York! Good for you!! I'm glad you got to go to the bodies exhibit. It looks amazing and I totally want to go, but I'm afraid it might creep Libby out a bit. =)

I went to one of those bodies exhibits last summer. I wanted to go for my intern/mentor activity but my mentors didn't want to so I went later on my own. This is why we're friends (well, one of many reasons).
