Monday in NYC

Today I went to the Guggenheim Museum. This is a picture (sideways) of the inside of the building. The building itself was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and it really cool. On the spiral up, I learned about the French artist Louise Bourgeois, who I feel badly for because her sad childhood caused her to create art of very interesting/depressing/angry nature. In the annexes were littler collections, inculding some Picasso cubist pieces. My favorites, though, were the "Black Painting"s of Ad Reinhardt. I don't remember learning about these, so I liked being surprised and learning more about him. At first look, they just look like a black canvas, but in low light, and after letting your eyes adjust, you can see that he put images (usually geometric) into the paint.
After the museum, I stopped at Dylan's Candy Bar, which is a glorified candy shop. Nathan's favorite were the chocolate covered oreos. I liked the turtles and swedish fish!
If anyone has any suggestions on places that they like in NY that they think I should go to, let me know! I'd love input!

I LOVE the Guggenheim! I would suggest the Museum of Modern Art (it was FREE on Friday nights? Check it out!) FAO Schwartz toys and Tiffany--all happen to be in the same vacinity of town. "Toys" for everybody! . . .but you are doing VERY well for yourself!!
